Event Description:
The Resident Commission, J&K, New Delhi is delighted to announce a very unique event that is going to bring out the inner desi inside of you! Embark on a mesmerizing journey through the heart of Jammu & Kashmir with “Sartorial Symphony - J&K’s Melody of Tradition.” This enchanting event is a celebration of the region’s rich cultural tapestry, showcasing the exquisite traditional attire, intricate jewelry, and unique art forms that have been passed down through generations.
Step into a world where every thread weaves a story of heritage, and every jewel reflects the shimmering beauty of Jammu & Kashmir’s landscapes. “Sartorial Symphony” is not just an event; it’s a tribute to the artisans and craftsmen whose skillful hands create magic with fabric and metal.
As you walk through the venue, you’ll be greeted by the vibrant colors of Pherans, the traditional attire adorned with delicate embroidery that tells tales of the valley’s history. The air will be filled with the soft melodies of Santoor, complementing the visual feast of the region’s sartorial elegance.
Witness the splendor of Dogra jewellery, where each piece is a testament to the craftsmanship that Jammu is renowned for. From the intricate designs of Dejhoor earrings to the regal allure of Chak necklaces, the jewelry exhibit will be a dazzling display of tradition and opulence.

Selection Criteria:
1) Each entry should include the following:
a) A maximum of 02 photographs per participant is allowed.
b) Participants from all age groups are invited to submit their entries.
c) Location (State/District/City).
d) Language should be English/Hindi and Urdu.
e) Each Image File should be less than 5 MB and downloadable in JPG or PDF format only.
f) The orientation of the file can be either landscape or portrait.
g) The entry should be original and not previously published in print or digital media.
h) The entry should not include copyrighted or trademarked images and logos.
i) Entries other than Image photographs i.e. Selfies or other irrelevant photographs will be disqualified from the competition.
2) Adherence to traditional designs, materials, and techniques.
3) Historical and cultural accuracy in the presentation.
4) Innovative interpretation of traditional concepts.
5) Unique artistic expression in the craft, attire, or performance.
6) The extent to which the entry captures the essence of J&K’s culture.
7)The ability to educate and inspire the audience about the region’s traditions.
8) Skill and precision in the creation of the artwork or attire.
9) Quality of construction and attention to detail.
10) Visual impact and overall beauty of the entry.
11) Preference for locally sourced materials that support sustainable practices and local economies.
12) Harmony of colors, patterns, and design elements.

Eligibility Criteria
1. The competition is open only to residents of J&K.
2. The entry must be original, not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957, and must not infringe on the intellectual rights of any third party.
3. The entry must not contain provocative, objectionable, or inappropriate content.
4. The winning entries would be the intellectual property of the Resident Commission Office ; J&K and the winners shall not exercise any right over it.
5. The winning entries may be used by the Resident Commission Office, J&K for promotional/ or display purposes, IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials, and for any other use as may be deemed appropriate.
6. The name/title/caption of the image(s) or PDFs should be original and must not infringe on the Intellectual Property Rights of any third party.
7. JKMyGov reserves the right to cancel or amend all or any part of this Contest and/ or Terms and Conditions/ Technical Parameters/ Evaluation Criteria. However, any changes to the Terms and Conditions/ Technical Parameters/ Evaluation Criteria, or the Contest’s cancellation will be updated/ posted on the JKMyGov platform. It would be the participant’s responsibility to keep themselves informed of any changes in the Terms and Conditions/Technical Parameters/ Evaluation Criteria stated for this Contest.
8. The participant should ensure that their JKMyGov profile is accurate and updated since this will be used for further communication. This includes details such as name, photo, complete postal address, email ID, and phone number. Entries with incomplete profiles would not be considered.
9. All the entries received by JKMyGov would be assessed by a committee of judges for selecting the entries/logos. The decision of the Committee shall be final and binding.
10. Entries would be judged based on elements of creativity, originality, composition, technical excellence, simplicity, artistic merit, and visual impact and how well they communicate the need to be reflected.
11. Participants must be residents of Jammu & Kashmir or belong to the J&K diaspora, to ensure an authentic representation of the culture.
