HackDefy- Safeguarding the Digital Realm

Description
The IT Department of Jammu and Kashmir is taking the initiative to organize the Hackathon -HackDefy event, aiming to engage participants in an educational and competitive environment that encourages a proactive approach to cybersecurity.
HackDefy is a simulated cyber security contest that challenges participants to test their skills in identifying vulnerabilities, protecting systems, and responding to cyber threats. The event aims to raise awareness about cyber security and promote the importance of safeguarding digital assets.

Simulation Scenario:
1. Participants to prepare a range of simulated cyber-attack scenarios, each with its own set of challenges and objectives. These could include scenarios like malware infections, data breaches, social engineering attacks, etc.
2. Participants categorize challenges into different difficulty levels, catering to participants with varying levels of expertise – from beginners to advanced users.
3. Participants to form teams or compete individually.
4. Emphasize ethical conduct throughout the event. Participants should be aware of the boundaries and respect the rules of engagement.
Rules and Guidelines
1. Each team can have a minimum of 1 member and a maximum of 2 members
2. Team members could be from different institutions (J&K or any other State/UT)
3. No plagiarism/copy-paste will be entertained; if found, the teams will directly be disqualified from the hack-a-thon.
4. The hack-a-thon begins on THURSDAY, 31st Aug 2023 and ends on THURSDAY, 14th Sept 2023.
5. The team must be registered for HACKATHON via the link www.jkmygov.in.
6. Unregistered teams will not be entertained in any case.
7. The registered teams are to submit relevant PPTs and other required files before the due date of submission through an email ID.
8. Only one person in the team would be the team leader, who must register on behalf of all the members.
9. The participants to submit the following before the end date :
a) A presentation (10-12 Slides) of the idea for the hackathon
b) Use case scenario
c) Participants' information i.e ID card, Qualification etc.
10. Participants who have not submitted the hackathon before the due date will be automatically disqualified.
Selection and Evaluation Criteria:
a) Shortlisted participants will be notified through email to prepare for the presentation and live demonstration.
b) Participants will present their cyber security demonstration to the selection committee, highlighting the use case, category of risk, functionality, and mitigation plan.
c) Demonstration of the cyber threats will be an essential part of the evaluation process. The date of the demonstration shall be communicated to the participants through the IT Department email ID.
Rewards
The Winner will be rewarded with 25,000/- prize money along with an e-certificate.
